NID Examination- Everything that you should know
The top institution of designing in India- the
National Institute of Design conducts a national level entrance exam (Design
Aptitude Test) for all the aspiring candidates who want to enrol themselves in
UG and PG courses of designing. Earlier, there were only 100 seats for eligible
candidates, but in the year 2020-2021, the number has been increased to 125.
NDI offers courses like Bachelor of Design, Master of Design, and Graduate
Diploma Programme in Design. The names of the candidates will be put up on the
merit list after you have passed both the stages of the examination. The NID Entrance Exam Date 2020 was
already conducted on 29th December 2019. However, you can appear for the 2021
session by filling online examination forms.
The online registration already started in November,
and the registration closes on 1st week of December 2020. By the 2nd week of
December, you can edit the application form. The Admit card for Preliminary
exams will be released on 3rd week of December 2020. On the last week, the
Prelims Exam will be held, and the result for Prelims B.Des and M.Des will be
out on their official website on 3rd week of February. So you still have the
option for giving your exam if you have missed out NID Entrance Exam Date 2020.
The Mains admit card for Master of Design will be available on 1st week of
March 2021. On the 2nd week of March 2021, the admit card for Bachelor of
Design will be released on the official website.
Process for application 2021:
Follow the below instructions before filling the
application form.
- Register yourself first.
- The application form filling
process will begin in November 2020.
- You can fill-up the form till 1st
week of December 2020.
- Upload your scanned photographs
and signature.
- Correction facilities are offered
to make changes if needed.
- Category certificates have to be
uploaded by the Reserve category candidates.
- The filled-in application form
and the demand draft will have to be sent to the given address.
- The application fee has to be
paid through demand draft (online), debit or credit card.
- Prepare the Demand Draft in
favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi.
Eligibility criteria:
For students who couldn’t appear for NID Entrance exam date, 2020 due to
eligibility issues should go through the points below to learn the points of
criteria needed to be eligible for this examination.
- Indian Nationals of General and
General EWS Category born on or after 1st July 2001
- Indian Nationals in Reserved
category – SCs, STs, OBCs, and Non-Creamy Layers are born on or after 1st
July 1998
- Indian Nationals in PwD category
born on or after 1st July 1996

Candidates
belonging to Supernumerary Category born on or after 1st July 2001 will be eligible
for applying for admission.
